For larger and/or more complex installations, a new innovation has
surfaced over the past few years. The digital mixer has become an
increasingly important part of many churches and organisations whose
needs are too demanding for a normal analogue mixer to cope with.
A digital mixer provides
many new benefits over analogue mixers, including:-
1. Enhanced feedback rejection, through channel
specific E.Q. settings and gates/duckers
2. The ability to "duck" or "gate" channels that
are not in use, to prevent ambient noise and feedback
3. Digital effects including compression,
expansion and limiting facilities
4. Motorised faders and scene memory, to allow
the saving of any number of different scenarios and services |

5. Ability to have a USB laptop access point located within the
church to allow control of the mixer by Keystone Sound Systems and/or
yourselves, during a service
With new, cheaper
technology being created all the time, a digital mixer is becoming
less of a dream and more of a reality for many people. |
