Croyland Abbey -
Crowland, Lincolnshire
Croyland (or Crowland) Abbey was
originally founded in the 8th century BC and is dedicated to Saint
Mary the Virgin, Saint Bartholomew and Saint Guthlac. At it's peak,
the Abbey was one of the most important in Britain, with it's
cathedral size dimensions and spacious living quarters for up to 40
monks. Sadly parts of the Abbey have fallen down due to dis-repair and
some were destroyed by King Henry VIII, however the nave was preserved
for use right up to the present day as the town's parish church.
The current
priest, Charles Brown, and fellow PCC members invited Keystone Sound
Systems to advise on the upgrade of the sound reinforcement system
within the church in early 2007, and we were honoured to be associated
with such a prestigious and historic building. After a great deal of
time and effort, we are delighted to announce the completion of the
new system and invite parishioners and visitors alike to enjoy. |
